THE FIVE CHURCH WALK
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 6 MAY 2013
The walk starts at 10am from Chilham, Boughton Aluph, Challock or Molash church. It links these churches in a clockwise circular 16 mile route following footpaths, bridleways, country lanes and private paths made available by special permission of the land-owners for this day only. The route passes through some of the most scenic countryside in East Kent and with the bluebells out and the cuckoo calling one can be sure of a lovely day. Walkers can choose to complete the circuit or not provided that they start and finish at any of the churches. Traditionally this has been a sponsored walk in aid of the Kent Air Ambulance, the Pilgrims Hospices and/or the participating churches, and funds raised are distributed according to the walker’s wishes as indicated on the entry form. However, nowadays walkers tend to sponsor themselves with a donation of at least £5 at the start. Incidentally, don’t bring snacks as each church has delicious home-made refreshments on offer. Boughton Aluph’s are famous!
So, for a great day out make a note of the date and be sure to come along
For more information or for entry and sponsorship forms, contact any of the local churches, the charities, or phone 01227 738591, 01233 627117 or 01233 640357. Or you can just turn up on the day.
