With the evenings drawing in, it’s time to sharpen your brains and make a date in your diaries for the annual Village Quiz at the Iron Room, Boughton Lees on Saturday 30th November, starting at 7.30pm prompt.

This will be the final fling for our current Quizmasters John Hardie and Pete Gammon, so enter a team, come along and see if you can rise to their ultimate challenge!

Please put your Team Name on the list in the Iron Room or the Village Green Notice Board. Teams will be of 4 people and we have space for a maximum of 14 teams, so sign up early to avoid disappointment.

As usual there will be a selection of soft drinks and refreshments available during the evening. No alcohol will be sold, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.

If you would like to donate a raffle prize, we would be very grateful. You can bring any prizes along on the night.

Entry fee is £2.50 per person.

As a significant number of choir members wish to support the Parish Council Meeting in the Iron Room this Monday there will be NO choir practice on the 11th

We will of course be back together the following week ….if you are yet to drop in please do feel welcome, the more the merrier… Also, do ensure you have the date for our ‘Village Christmas Carol Singing’ 15th December time and location to be confirmed, but it is looking likely to be at 4.30pm around a seasonally decorated Cricket Pavilion with mulled wine and mince pies.

This issue will be discussed at the Parish Council meeting to be held at 7.30 pm on Monday 11 November in the Iron Room.  Proposed development in our area affects us all in one way or another and you are strongly encouraged to come along to the meeting and have your say.  There are other items on the agenda including the local Traffic Survey which is about to get under way funded by the Awards for All Lottery – come and have your say!
