       Neighbourhood Watch Scheme

We are delighted to announce the official launch of our Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. You are cordially invited to a meeting at the

A presentation will be made on behalf of the regional co-ordinator of Neighbourhood Watch explaining fully what is involved and there will be a question and answer session to make sure that you are fully informed.

Please bear in mind that there are three phases to the scheme:

Firstly to receive information from the local Police about local incidents, which may be useful in protecting you and your property.

Second, to provide you with a communication channel which will advise all other residents about something which has concerned you. This is, in no way a substitute for a 999 or 101 call, but, in the event of a serious problem does enable you to spread the word quickly – which may in turn help find witnesses etc.  It also allows other residents to be informed about minor items such as scams, uninvited salesmen etc. which would not normally be reported to the Police.

Thirdly, there is a social dimension to the scheme, looking out for elderly residents, persons who live alone, the disabled – anti social behaviour including, for example prohibited vehicles still using Wye Road. These are subjects which can be discussed in greater detail but which enables the scheme to broaden its base considerably.

At the end of the meeting we also plan to update you on the proposal to create a Neighbourhood Plan and our team will be available to answer any of your questions. Looking forward to seeing you on

17th June 7.30pm
